TMS were instructed to install a gabion wall alongside the bridge abutment to provide scour protection and bank stabilisation. The bed was leveled with a long reach machine from the shore. TMS then laid a layer of stone ready to install gabion matresses. TMS divers installed all of the lower baskets and mattresses. Once the baskets were up out of the water the top line of baskets were finished off conventionally. All of the baskets were hand filled and faced with stone. Once the baskets were installed we back-filled with clean stone and type one material to the top, ready for top soil.

Lizard RNLI Slipway Build
TMS divers have been installing the sub-sea sections of the RNLI'S new lifeboat slipway at Lizard Point Cornwall. TMS were contracted for a period of three months to assist Nuttall John Martin Construction in assembling and positioning the 23 tonne steel pre-fabricated sections that make up the length of the slipway. This involved positioning concrete transoms on top of the already installed tubular piles, Positioning the steel sections on top of the transoms to the correct line and level and then grouting the sections when finally in position. These works are essential for the continuing modernisation of the RNLI and will now enable the Lizard Point Lifeboat Station to be equipped with the new state of the art "Tamar" class lifeboat.
