TMS divers have been installing the sub-sea sections of the RNLI'S new lifeboat slipway at Lizard Point Cornwall. TMS were contracted for a period of three months to assist Nuttall John Martin Construction in assembling and positioning the 23 tonne steel pre-fabricated sections that make up the length of the slipway. This involved positioning concrete transoms on top of the already installed tubular piles, Positioning the steel sections on top of the transoms to the correct line and level and then grouting the sections when finally in position. These works are essential for the continuing modernisation of the RNLI and will now enable the Lizard Point Lifeboat Station to be equipped with the new state of the art "Tamar" class lifeboat.
